Subject: serials questions
I am posting this on behalf of our library and information science intern
who is working on our holdings statements as part of her project. Please
respond to me, Jacqueline Snider (snider@act.org) or Cassandra Moon
(moon@act.org). Thank you for your assistance. Jacqueline Snider, ACT
Library.
The following are the serials questions, I hope that they are clear.
Thanks.
1) What is the correct way to display holdings information (Level 3,
Option A, ANSI Z39.44) when a journal changes its name and restarts its
numbering sequence? An example of this is Inside Netware which was
formerly titled NetWare Advisor.
2) What is the correct way to display holdings information (Level 3,
Option A, ANSI Z39.44) when a journal is published every other year then
changes to every year? Does this effect the way the volume information
should be displayed. An example of this is Instructional Evaluation and
Faculty Development. Additionally, this journal has gone back to being
published every other year!!
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I understand that
many journals have have exceptions; however, these are two that I have
seen repeatedly since we began adding our holdings information.
Thank you,
Cassandra Moon
