Serials Folks:

We have been using Project Muse here at Connecticut College for a year or
so. Like Ron Epp said, the library staff has been trying to "sell" the
product to faculty, and will continue to do so. It's available through
our Library Home Page in Netscape, and we have been telling faculty about
it all year, but it has not gotten the usage we would have liked to have
seen by this time. It does depend on how powerful of computer they have,
and if someone has loaded Netscape for them. About 80% of the faculty
here have access in their offices. We have not cancelled our print
subscriptions YET, but are considering it. Some people still prefer the
paper, so there will be some resistance. We also have serious space
problems in our bound collection, so we have to consider going to the
electronic format for some titles. I think Project Muse is a very
worthwhile venture, and I think the cost is reasonable for that format. I
highly recommend it.
