Coordinator of Cataloging
Cleveland State University invites applications for the position of
Coordinator of Cataloging.
The Coordinator of Cataloging is responsible for leadership in
implementing an innovative technical services model, the organization and
standards for bibliographic databases, oversight of outsourced cataloging
and authority control, copy cataloging, electronic transfer of
bibliographic data; liaison with Innovative, OhioLINK and vendors;
bibliographic database resource person for Library; original cataloging,
training and managerial duties as required.
Minimum qualifications: MSLS or equivalent degree from an accredited
library school; evidence of initiative, flexibility, and potential to
assume administrative/leadership responsibilities in a rapidly changing
environment; demonstrated knowledge of the latest technology related to
cataloging and the maintenance and transfer of bibliographic information;
two years working as a professional cataloger, including demonstrated
knowledge of standard cataloging, authority control, LC classification and
subject headings, bibliographic utilities; excellent oral and written
communications abilities, including strong interpersonal skills. Preferred
Qualifications: experience cataloging serials and non-print formats;
potential to assume responsibility for selection of materials and faculty
liaison.
Salary range: $31,000-$34,000, rank and salary depend on qualifications
