                                 (NASIG)

                        Tuesday, November 19, 1996
                   URI Library - Galanti Lounge, 5:00-6:30 p.m.

"Order out of chaos: Collection development and management of
                             Internet resources"

Presenter: Maggie Rioux, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute

As World Wide Web home pages multiply, librarians are beginning
to evaluate these and other Internet tools as information
resources which should be made available to patrons and staff.
But how do we select and collect virtual resources? This
session will explore vital issues for developing and managing
Internet-based collections in the new frontier of electronic
        serials.

This continuing education program is free and open to all NASIG members and URI
students, faculty, alumni, staff and friends. Space is limited and reservations
are recommended. URI-GSLIS friends contact Rosemary Northup at (401) 874-2878.
