Correction:  the "E-Serials and CONSER" document was originally posted
to SERIALST on Aug. 27, 1996 (not the Aug. 12 date that I mentioned in
my previous message).  Sorry about the error.  I just corrected it in
the archived message -- but alas, not before it was distributed to the list!
