When looking for personal recommendations for a heavy use copier that
is of reasonable cost, try asking LIS schools which brands they use in
faculty/staff copy rooms. From practical experience, I know they gobble
up as much if not more paper than the library's copiers. May be the
library makes more copies, but I suspect that they have more machines.
>From personal experience -- as a GA -- I know our poor little copier :-)
runs enough copies in one hour to make KINKO drool. And because it is
a school's copier handling administrative business as well as running
handouts for faculty, it has to keep running. And the best people to
ask are not the faculty, but the secretaries. I would say GAs, but
they only see their little slice of the pie, and the secretary sees the
whole ugly mess and will have a better idea of the cost and the amount
of usage.
