Good morning!  Budget pitfalls are making life in my periodicals department
rather dismal.  My supervisor was wondering outloud to me yesterday if
perhaps there isn't money out there somewhere that could help us.  To the
best of my knowledge there isn't grant money available for collection building,
but I have never researched the possibility.  I was curious if other periodical
departments have come up with creative money to bind or purchase subscriptions
or buy/maintain equipment.  What might help is a Friends program, which my
library does not have.  Does any one have success stories or ideas to share?
