Subject: Newspaper check in

At our library, we decided to check in newspapers online, on the NOTIS system.
We cumulate receipts as: 1996:June 1-24,26-29
                         1996:July 1-26,29-31
showing missings as appropriate.
NOTIS allows about 15 receipt lines. All our newspapers have retention periods.
We adjust the receipts accordingly. We have had no problems. We never felt
the need to keep kardexes for this purpose.
