Subject: Closing the Kardex

At Loyola University in New Orleans, we began using a computerized
check-in system in the mid-1980s, and disposed of our Kardex within two
years.  I've never missed it.  However, like Deborah Harrell we continue
to check in our newspapers in a Kardex because it still seems to work
best for high frequency items.
