RE: New Statesmen & Society problem
My serials assistant insisted I make a decision on this today, so I
looked at it and discovered the numbering problem others have already
described. Besides the title change, they have completely confused the
situation by misnumbering several issues. If you look closely, you will
notice that they have an e-mail address. I suggest that we librarians
flood them with complaints and ask them to publish a statement of
clarification -- at least.
I also think we should nominate them for a "Worst Serial Title Change"
award. And send them a copy of the ALCTS brochure on presentation
guidelines for serials.
As for us: we were using the less prominent numbering, and I am going
to hope that they continue to show that too, or less we'll be in a
mess. This one is a real stinker!
