State Library Information Services Specialist Senior (Serials Librarian)

Salary range: $27,403 - $41,841

Master's degree in library science form an ALA accredited school is
required.  Catalogs and provides guidance for cataloging extensive serial
and Virginiana materials in a variety of formats by applying a knowledge
of national and local standards to ensure accurate and timely of Library
materials for availability to patrons.  Contributes team assistance in
day-to-day workflow guidance and instructions and verifys or establishes
authority records in the agency's integrated, on-line library system.
Considerable knowledge of library standards and operating procedure, of
automated library systems, of on-line database searching.  Bachelor's
degree in American History, English or Government is desirable.  A valid
driver's license and security check required.  Progressive library
experience in serials cataloging, technical services, on-line
bibliographic utilities, automated library systems, and in training and
overseeing support staff preferred.
