        Joyce Ann Tracy, curator of newspapers and periodicals at the
 American Antiquarian Society (Worcester, Mass) died Friday, 14 June,
 1996, after a short struggle with brain cancer. She had been with the
 American Antiquarian Society as curator for 23 years, and had also been
 the director of the society's U.S. newspaper project, 1981-1988.
        There will be a memorial service at Antiquarian Hall in Worcester,
 Monday, 24 June, 1996 at 4 P.M.
        Memorial contributions can be made to the the Joyce A. Tracy
 Research Fellowship fund, American Antiquarian Society, 185 Salisbury
 St., Worcester, Mass. 01609; or First Congregational Church, Church
 Street, Ellsworth, Maine 04605.
