Confusing title/issue number problems
Deborah Harrell 04 Jun 1996 22:52 UTC
In our on-going quest for standardization in serial publishing, let me
add the following dilemma.
We subscribe to *Computerworld*, and have for a number of years.
Previously when they published a supplemental issue, we simply checked it
in as a supplement. This year they have decided to publish several
supplemental titles: Computerworld Financial Services Journal,
Computerworld Electronic Commerce Journal, Computerworld Client/Server
Journal. The Electronic Commerce Journal says it is a supplement to
Computerworld. The other two titles seem to be "stand alones".
We also subscribe to *Windows Magazine*. The *special issue* dated
Summer 1996 has a different volume/issue number than the other regular
issues. When I contacted the publisher, his response was that *specials*
are numbered ad stand alone titles completely separate from the parent title.
How have others of you handled these titles?
Thanks.
