North Campus Library
Resource Development Librarian. Responsibilities include: supervision,
training, and operational management of Serials & Acquisitions Sections
(composed of 4 full-time staff); administration of budgets (serials,
monographs, and binding); collection management; and preservation. Works
under general direction and reports to the Department Head of Bibliographic
Control. Close liaison with North Campus faculty and colleagues at University
Park campus library. Some evening and weekend work on public service
desks is required. FIU uses an integrated NOTIS system for acquisitions
and serials.
Qualifications:
Required - MLS from an ALA accredited school. Demonstration of
excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communicative skills.
Desired - Serials and acquisitions experience, preferably in an
academic library. Experience with integrated library systems for acquisitions
and serials processing. Background in training library staff and users.
Interest in computers and information technology. Broad interests
in all aspects of information science.

Rank and Salary: Instructor or Assistant University Librarian, salary $26,000
- $29,430, commensurate with qualifications & experience.
