Robison, Architecture, Graphics, and the Net: A Short History of Architronic, a Peer-Reviewed E-Journal Although many electronic journals are published on the Internet, the history of Architronic: The Electronic Journal of Architecture is unique because of the graphic nature of architectural communication. Published by the School of Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University, the journal was begun as an experiment to determine what could be communicated about architecture in a text-only environment. However, with the introduction of sophisticated Web browsers, the focus of the journal has changed to experiment with what can be communicated about architecture with combinations of text, still images, video segments, and audio segments. o HTML file World-Wide Web: <URL:http://info.lib.uh.edu/pr/v7/n3/robi7n3.html> o ASCII file Gopher: <URL:gopher://info.lib.uh.edu:70/00/articles/ e-journals/uhlibrary/pacsreview/v7/n3/robison.7n3> List Server: Send the e-mail message GET ROBISON PRV7N3 F=MAIL to listserv@uhupvm1.uh.edu. + Page 2 + ----------------------------------------------------------------- Editor-in-Chief Charles W.
