Check-in of electronic journals Simon Huggard 09 May 1996 17:42 UTC

Just a quite question regarding electronic journals:

Is anyone accessioning (checking-in) individual issues of electronic
journals on their library automated systems (irrespective of where
the electronic version is located) in order to check and claim for
those they have paid money for?

In the past I think I have posted that checking-in wasn't a good idea
because it just added extra time to the process, but in the future we
may be receiving 200 or 300 electronic journals which we may not have
good controls over the checking of receipt of issues.

Is there software which the Internet server may use to check for
receipt of issues and produce a report?

Thanks in advance.
