Subject: Journal of Operations Management
I have a question about the Journal of Operations Management (0272-
6963), published by Elsevier. It's a journal of the American
Production and Inventory Control Society.
The most recent issue is either misnumbered, they intentionally
skipped a volume, volumes are being published out of sequence, or
we were out of the loop for an entire volume. The editor-in-chief
just changed with the latest issue. We quizzed him about the
change, but he does not know the answers and suggested that we
write to Elsevier in the Netherlands.
This is faster.
This is our recent history:
Rec'd v.12:no.1 (1994:Oct.) on 12/2/94
inside - 1 vol/yr - v.12=1994
Rec'd v.12:no.2 (1995:Feb.) on 4/7/95
inside - 1 vol/yr - v.12=1994, v.13=1995 (???)
Rec'd v.12:no.3-4 (1995:Jun.) on 6/29/95
inside - same as no.2 above
Rec'd v.14:no.1 (1996:Mar.) this week
inside - 1 vol/yr - v.14=1996
So,
- is v.14:no.1 actually v.13:no.1?
- was v.13 intentionally/accidentally skipped?
- did we miss v.13 entirely?
- will v.13 be published _after_ v.14?
(I won't even go into our payment history, since I haven't gotten
that far yet.)
Has anyone gotten more up-to-date information than I have here?
Thanks.
