POSITION AVAILABLE
Saint Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri
Position Title: Serials Public Services Librarian
Rank/Grade: Instructor or Assistant Professor rank
equivalent, non-tenure track, 12 month position
Salary: $ 25,000 minimum based on qualifications and
experience. Attractive benefits including retirement,

and vacation.
Department/Division: Pius XII Memorial Library,
Serials/Acquisitions Department
Supervisor: Patrick McCarthy, Head of the
Serials/Acquisitions Department
Duties: Assist in planning, coordinating and supervising
public services, oversee serials control, including
check-in and database maintenance, serve as resource for
technical processing of serials records in OCLC and
migration to INNOPAC.
Requirements: ALA accredited MLS, two years professional
experience (advanced subject degree can substitute for
experience), public service orientation, effective
oral/written communications and interpersonal skills,
flexibility, initiative, commitment to professional
growth, and ability to work in rapidly changing automated
environment.
Preferences: Evidence of strong supervisory skills,
working knowledge of one or more foreign languages.
Available: July 1, 1996, or as soon thereafter as
