Go into the title record and tab to pattern (F2) and
--delete the v.,no, etc. from the screen, including date
               format at the bottom (F2)
--tab down to pub status and change to "dead" with the
appropriate cut off date and save (F10)
Go into the copy record and change Lib Status to "inact"
with appropriate cut off date; add same cut off date
for effective date. . . and save (F10)

This should help avoid the blank information in connection
          with the claims.

          Good luck!

We have had the same problem here at Niagara--nothing we do seems to
prevent it, including using the status "not claimed".

We have been on ml since '88 and do not have this problem. Don't remember for
sure, but I believe you need to "kill" the title in the copy screen if you
cancelled, and you can do that same in the title screen if it stopped being
published. I believe the former will stop the claims and wonder if the latter
won't also.
