                New England Technical Services Librarians

                        TECH SERVICES ONLINE
                        Friday, April 12, 1996

                        Worcester, MA

     The conference will explore how library technical services departments
are getting involved on the Internet.  The first speaker, Edward Gaynor,
University of Virginia, will speak on including electronic documents in a
library's database.  Following his talk, breakout sessions will include an
introduction to the web, creation of technical services home pages, an
introduction to HTML, and cataloging the internet.  The afternoon speaker
will be Erik Jul of OCLC, who will discuss outcomes of the Internet
Cataloging project he's running and the next steps that OCLC and libraries
might consider.  Registration is $35 for NELA/NETSL members, $45 for
nonmembers.  Registration forms will be sent to NELA/NETSL members in early
