Hi Lee-
        Our vendor is Faxon.  To the best of my recollection (19 years'
worth) we've never paid a late charge.  Faxon has always been cooperative
and accommodating about these things.  On those infrequent occasions when
we know that the accounting office will be slow or late in paying a bill,
I call our service rep. and explain the situation.  That seems to be all
that is necessary to avoid the late charges.
