Subject: old newspapers--again(sorry)

I know I sent a message out on this service before about old
newspapers, but I did not phrase it correctly.

We have a lot of bound volumes from the late 19th and early 20th
century that we would like to deaccession. Has anyone out there
done such an endeavour? If so, what criteria did you use? Was
there a cut off date for retention? Or, perhaps did it vary by
title according to paper quality?

Another question, does anyone know who would want the bound volumes
we will deaccession? Is there a place that buys them? Can we give
them away? Is there a list on the Internet we could post them for
the taking? Or, should we invest in a big dumpster?

You may send replies directly to me. Thank you for your help.
