Subject: Call for Nominations - Bowker/Ulrich's Serials Librarianship Award

Dear Colleagues:

The members of the ALCTS Bowker/Ulrich's Serials Librarianship Award
Committee is calling for nominations of candidates who you believe meet the
criteria listed below.  The DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS IS DECEMBER 1, 1995.

The Bowker/Ulrich's Award, presented by the ALCTS (Association for Library
Collections & Technical Services), Serials Section and sponsored by the R.
R. Bowker Company, consists of a citation with a cash prize of $1,500.00.
The winner will be featured and profiled in a 1996 issue of Library
Resources & Technical Services (LRTS) and honored at the ALCTS Membership
Meeting during the ALA Annual Conference in New York in July 1996.

The award is annually bestowed on individuals in recognition of  their
distinguished contributions to serials librarianship, including but not
limited to those made within the previous three years.  Such contributions
may be demonstrated by leadership in serials related activities through
participation in professional associations and/or library education
programs, contributions to the body of serials literature, research in the
area of serials, or development of tools or methods to enhance access to
or management of serials, or other advances leading to a better
understanding of the field of serials.

The award may be shared by two or more individuals who have
participated in the achievement for which it is granted.

Please submit letters of nomination, supportive letters, documentation
and up to three examples of the nominee's publications to the
Chair of the Committee no later than December 1, 1995.
