Request for SF area info re. ALCTS Serials Cataloging Institute
Kathleen A Peterson 03 Oct 1995 22:00 UTC
In addition to Mitch's posting to the list (thank you, Mitch) I have several
other personal replies which I will summarize for the list.
Everyone has emphasized being safe and taking taxis. One respondent said the
nearest BART station is about 8 blocks away so it would not be a good thing
to use at night. He mentioned that there might be a large number of street
people, panhandlers, etc. in the hotel area. Another suggested using the
Supershuttle for trips to/from the airport ($9-12 one way with a break for
roundtrip) rather than taxis.
Thanks again to everyone who replied, personally and to the list. I'm looking
forward to putting names & faces together.
Also, I contacted LaTisha Reynolds to see if we needed to bring anything with
us, like documentation (AACR2r, CONSER Cataloging Manual, etc.). She replied
that everything we would need would be at the institute, except for a notepad
and pens.
