We're considering beginning to barcode our bound periodical collection, for
purposes of use studies, as well as automated check-out. For the monographs
collection, we currently place the barcodes on the top center of the inside
back cover. I don't have anything to do with changing that, but that seems
especially incovenient for big old heavy bound periodicals. However, I can't
imagine that the barcodes we're currently using will stick well enough on
buckram covers to stand up to the kind of usage they're going to get.
Anybody know of a barcode that's specifically designed to use on bound
periodicals or buckram?
Anybody have any secrets to getting them to stay on?
Have you found covers (over the barcodes) to be practical?
Any magic location that works best?
Please reply to me directly, if anybody else is interested, I'll summarize
for the list - TIA
