We used small yellow Dennison dots in our project to move items to "Lower
Level Storage" (we occasionally remarked that we were "going dotty"), and we
soon found that they are definitely NOT permanent. Sometimes it seems
breathing on a volume would make the dot fall off. Now I'm seeing volumes
that have labels about 3/4" x 1" that have "LLS" in large black letters;
they're placed above or below the spine label and seem to be working very well.
