The New Members Round Table Supports the 1995 Wisconsin Library Association
Grassroots Grant!

The Membership Committee of the Wisconsin Library Association is happy to
announce that the Wisconsin Library Assoication will provide local funding
for a 1995 Grassroots Grant.  The $250.00 grant will be awarded to a
Wisconsin student to defray the costs of attending the 1995 Wisconsin
Library Association Annual Conference in Appleton from October 24-27, 1995.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

        1.      Be enrolled full-time or part-time in a Master's degree
program in library and information science at an accredited college or
university.

- OR -

                Be enrolled full-time or part-time in an undergraduate library and
information science             program or library technical program.

        2.      Be a member of the Wisconsin Library Association.  (New membership will
cover the               remainder of 1995 and all of 1996.)

CONDITIONS OF GRANT ACCEPTANCE

        1.      The recipient will attend at least two days of the 1995 WLA Annual
Conference,                     attending functions of personal interest as will as certain
other functions as may be               requested by the committee.

        2.      The recipient will keep a daily log of conference activities.  The log,
along with an           evaluation form, will be submitted to the committee to be
used in evaluation of the               project.

        3.      The grant check will be issued before the conference, to defray
conference related              costs.

        4.      If the recipient is unable to complete the terms of this agreement, he
or she will                     notify the Grassroots Grant Committee and return any funds
received under the                      grant.

degrees expected or attained.

2. Honors: Be as thorough as you believe necessary.

3. Library association activities:  List any participation at local, state
and national levels.

4. Relevant work experience:  List in chrnological order, most current first.

5. References:  Provide the names, addresses, and phone numbers of two
references.

6. Personal statement:  In no more than one page, outline your need for this
grant in terms of your professional development, your committment to the
profession, and your financial need.  Please include any factors that you
consider relevant to the committee's decision.
