Z39.44 standard Dee Douglas 07 Sep 1995 14:26 UTC

Please reply to Dee Douglas <jdouglas@MAIL.PUBLIC.LIB.GA.US>, not to
SERIALST. Thanks. --ed.

I am interested in knowing if libraries who participate in serials union
listing through OCLC are using the ANSI Z39.44-1986 standard (American
National Standard for Information Sciences - Serial Holdings Statements).
If you care to answer this mini-survey you may reply to me directly, rather
than to SERIALST.
Thank you.

1. Type of library? (academic, public, special)

2. What is the approximate number of serial titles in your library?

3. What GAC(s) (group access capability) is your library a part of?

4. When creating LDR's or updating previously entered LDR's, does your library
follow the Z39.44 standard? (i.e., incuding enumeration captions in
    holdings statements).

5. If your library follows the new standard, at what level of specificity are
    holdings reported? [Level 1, 2, 3 (option A or B), or 4].

6. Has your library done any retrospective updating of LDR's to comply with
the new standard? Are there any plans to?
