I have noted below the instructions to subscribe to a new listserv devoted
to the discussion of Gifts and Exchanges.  This list was formed out of
several requests from members of the Gifts and Exchange Discussion Group.  A
message I sent out a few months ago solicited over 30 responses and all but
2 were in favor of such a list.  James Burgett of the University of Kentucky
has graciously volunteered to be the listowner and I am very grateful to him
