I am forwarding this query to the list for one of the system developers
here at LC. We are developing a serials management system for internal
use. Thanks!

We are researching how the serials community handles publisher "errors" in
the enumeration or chronology of issues, especially in the context of
automated serials systems. Do you check in the issue as it describes
itself, or the issue as it should be? If you record the issue as it
should be, how do you determine what it should be? What problems--in
accessioning, reference, claiming, binding, etc.-- are caused by your
approach? What problems are avoided?
