Re: Times higher education supplement Nancy Hanks 15 Mar 1995 18:09 UTC

We had changed the title to The Higher but continued to shelve the micro-
film under Times because we had no room to shelve it under H without a major
shift. When we checked OCLC when it went back to the "previous" title and
found that the CONSER bib had Higher as a 246, we corrected our system and
suppressed the Higher record. (This is why we sometimes continue to checkin
under an old title for a couple of months!) We just mark our boxes how we
want to students to shelve them. We do this for a number of titles as we use
some rather antiquated filing rules. All of our periodicals are shelved by
title. If the shelving title does not match the 245, we add an 852 delimiter
 l to our holdings record.
