SOLINET POSITION OPENING: OCLC SERVICES COORDINATOR/LIBRARIAN
The Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET) has an opening for the
position of OCLC Services Coordinator. This high-visibility position
provides member libraries with training and consultation on the use of
the OCLC system. In addition, coordinators travel extensively
throughout the southeast to conduct continuing education workshops.
They also provide first line telephone support for over 700 member
libraries in the southeast and the Caribbean, answering questions in a
variety of library automation and technology areas, particularly in
cataloging and technical services workflow issues.
Requirements for the position include: ALA MLS with a minimum of 3
years varied professional library experience, with at least two years
in cataloging; working knowledge of OCLC MARC, AACR2 and current
cataloging practice; solid knowledge of OCLC services and their
implementation in libraries; demonstrated training ability; working
knowledge of personal computers and their operating systems; ability
to manage extensive travel schedule. Beginning salary range: low to
mid 30's; generous benefits package.
