          Dear Colleagues,

          I would like to inform you  of  two  new CONSER publications that
          will  be available on  February  1,  1995  from  the  Library  of
          Congress Cataloging Distribution Service.  Orders can  be  placed
          now at the address listed below.

          1994 Edition of the CONSER Editing Guide.

          This edition  of  the  CONSER Editing Guide  is  a completely new
          publication with a number of important enhancements.  It features
          the  changes  resulting  from  the implementation of  the  USMARC
          variable formats and from the AACR2 1993 amendments.  It includes
          new fields for on-line serials and serials on CD-ROM as  well  as
          sound recordings  and  videos.   Newly  expanded instructions for
          cataloging reproduction microforms are  also included.  In total,
          the  1994  edition introduces 14  new  fields  and  eliminates  9
          others.

          The CONSER Editing Guide, 1994  ed. comes  in  two sturdy binders
          with completely revised  text  and  examples.   It  explains  new
          CONSER subject analysis policy  and  includes revised definitions
          of  CONSER membership levels.   This  publication supersedes  the
          previous edition  and  updates  of  the  CONSER Editing Guide.The
          price is 63 dollars for customers in North America and 68 dollars
          for customers outside North America.

          New Update for the CONSER Cataloging Manual.

          Update No. 2  of  the CONSER Cataloging Manual is  now available.
          It includes a  new module, "Microform Serials," and  updates  the
          entire text  to reflect changes resulting from format integration
          and the 1993 amendments to AACR2.

          Update 2  is priced at  38 dollars for customers in North America
          and 39 dollars outside North America.

          There is also a new package price for the base text of the CONSER
          Cataloging Manual plus Updates  1  and  2.   This  price  is  110
          dollars for customers in  North America and  120  dollars outside
          North America.
