BBA = Biochimica et Biophysica Acta

I have a question for those of you who subscribe to BBA, also
known as Biochimica et biophysica acta.
First, the explanation and a bit of the history : this serial
divided into approximately 10 titles. However, the parts continued
the same volume numbering from the "old title", so at this library,
all parts continued to be bound into one volume, bearing the
Biochimica et Bio.... title.
Other information : some of the ISSNs for the parts are different
from the original BBA. Some are the same. The OCLC records for the
parts are very different. Some precede the part title with BBA, some
with Biochimica et Biophysica acta, and others don't have BBA or
biochim.... at all.
One last piece of information : BBA is listed in the List of
Journals Indexed in Index Medicus as Biochim Biophys Acta
Question : am I safe in just using the original BBA record in
OCLC for all the parts? Just adding in 246's for each original part
name and adding in the extra ISSNs, if they're different?
What have other sites done with this title, especially with check-
in, claiming, etc?
We use KeyNOTIS for check-in, how will the situation as described
above, affect our claiming mechanism? You see, the issues, although
they're still numbered consecutively with the old BBA, don't come out
in that consecutive order.
Do we need to maintain records in our local online system for the
specific parts but suppress the parts from public view?
Thanks for any advice.
