The ALCTS/AS Acquisitions Librarians/Vendors of Library Materials
Discussion Group will meet Sunday, Feb. 5 at 10:30 A.M. in Room 202A of
the Pennsylvaia Convention Center.  The topic of discussion will be
"Librarians and Vendors:  The View for Both Sides of the Fence."  A
panel of professionals who at various stages of their careers have been
both librarians and vendors will discuss the similarities among and the
differences between these roles.  A partial list of panelists includes
Ken Hendrickson of Univ. of Nebraska, Jane Maddox from Harrosowitz,
Corrie Marsh from UMI, and Arlene Seiver from Case-Western.

  A short business meeting will follow to discuss possible linking of
standing committees and discussion groups in the Acquisitions Section
and a suggested broadening of this discussion group to also include
vendors of library systems.
