The Creative Ideas in Technical Services Discussion Group will be holding
a meeting at the Midwinter ALA conference in Philadelphia. It will be on
Sunday, Feb. 5th at 4:30 in room 201C in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The Top Five topics for the Midwinter meeting chosen by last summer's
attendees at the ALA conference in Miami Beach are:

1. Shifting/changing roles and functions within technical services
2. Future of original catalogers
3. Pros and cons of using vendor-supplied cataloging and cataloging services
4. Self-managed teams
5. Acquisitions/cataloging interface

Before making the final selection of the 3 topics to be discussed at
Midwinter, I wanted to canvas several lists for additional ideas. If
anyone has other ideas or supports any of the 5 listed, please let me
know ASAP. Also, if you are interested in being a facilitator for any of
these topics, contact me.

The selected topics will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
