Hello Sonya, we have the same problem and I've conclude that this problem
is 98% the publisher's fault. I do no think that they check there records
when the renewal is sent to them through the agent ex. Faxon etc. because
if they did they would see that the renewal is for 1 yr to begin 1/95 and end
12/95(which most libraries are on unless it is something that begin in June or
September). Another thing the publisher do is when the renewal go in the put
the subscription in to begin the following month. Most agents send renewals
in sometime between Sept. and Nov. what some publishers do is if they rec'd
the $$ in late Oct. they put in the subscription for 11/94 thru 10/95, and do
not look at what the previous years subscription was thus we end up with dups.
in nov. and dec. On some titles we'll get what we paid for as well (1/95-12/95)
with no hassle but other titles we will have to fight to rec'd what we really
paid for regardless of what was entered incorrectly. I would continue to do what
you have been doing except i would send it directly to the publisher for each
title even though it makes a lot of extra work for you.
