Head of Periodicals & Serials - SUNY Farmingdale

Primary responsibilities include planning, coordinating & supervising all
aspects of periodical & serial acquisitions and services, including the
selection, development, processing, and use of periodicals and microfilm.  Also
responsible for planning a move from the SC350 Serials Control System to a
Multilis Serials Control System.  Supervise 3.2 FTE clerks plus student
assistants.  Work at the reference desk.  Some evening and/or weekend hours
probable.  Required qualifications:  MLS from an accredited library school;
three+ years of professional librarian experience, preferably in an academic
library; experience with vendors and the serials trade; knowledge of current
trends in periodicals/serials management and control, including computer
applications.  Preferred qualifications:  knowledge of OCLC and supervisory
experience.  Salary range:  $34,000-$39,000.  Letter of application and resume
