                        Paul V. Galvin Library
                   Illinois Institute of Technology

The Paul V. Galvin Library at Illinois Institute of Technology
located three miles south of Chicago's Loop, is looking for the
following dynamic individuals:

Technical Services Librarian

Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the successful
candidate will manage and maintain the bibliographic database of
the library's collections in local, statewide, and national
databases.  The candidate's duties will include cataloging,
authority control, project management, and staff training;
reviewing and evaluating procedures as the Library implements a new
and expanded local system, and participates in the transition to a
new ILLINET Online statewide system.

Qualifications: ALA accredited MLS; experience in cataloging in
academic or special libraries; understanding of AACR2, OCLC, LC,
and LCSH.  Knowledge of INNOVACQ and pc applications is desirable.
Candidate needs to be self-motivated and possess ability to resolve
complex problems using critical thinking skills.  Excellent oral
and written communication skills and a willingness to work in a
team environment is also necessary.

Access Services Librarian (Evening/Entry Level)

The successful candidate will assist the Head of Access Services in
managing circulation, ILL and DDS (Document Delivery Service);
supervise library during evening hours including Sunday evenings.
Responsibilities include managing the reserve collection and
student assistants.

Qualifications include: ALA accredited MLS; 1-3 years experience in
academic libraries is highly desirable; strong interpersonal
communications and public service orientation are a must.
Familiarity with OCLC, LCS/IO; CD-ROMs and Dialog searching.
