Last year we analyzed our use statistics for periodicals and found that
there were a number of titles that were not used in the first half of the
year, ie. there were no 1993 uses for 1993 issues prior to July.  It is
our guess that these titles were not used because of the time lag between
publication of the journal and it appearance in indexing sources.
we decided to cancel the paper subscriptions for those titles that we receive
in microform since, one we receive the microform, we have not compromised
the integrity of our collection.  We agreed to obtain articles from the
cancelled journals through the Carl Uncover system.  As of now, we have had
no requests for articles from the cancelled journals.  We probably will
expand this next year since we face further cuts in our budget.
