I'm glad you're bringing up this question. We had a project at NYU cataloging
the Greenwood Reprint series Radical periodicals in the United States. We
did use 777 fields with first indicator 1, and explained the situation in a
free text note: After 580 Reprint of a periodical ... we put a semicolon,
then "published" or "issued with", then we listed the titles and explained
that they all were issued together under title: <filing, spine title>.
I am very interested to know if any specific guidelines now exist for this
situation. Incidentally, we faithfully used uniform titles, even in those
sticky situations where the LCRI 25.5B called for corporate body qualifier;
in such a case we used judgement, sometimes using place/date combination,
as we have seen LC and CONSER libraries do at times.
Again, Karen, thank you for bringing this up. I consider it an important pro-
blem and eagerly awaiting others' experiences, and a possible documented
solution.
