Steven McAuliffe asks:

> Does anybody know of a newspaper written in Latin?

Gaudeo te illud de me rogavisse.

I have a vague recollection that there is or was one published by a
high school in the US, but the current Gale Directory of Publications
[in North America], which includes an index by language, does not
mention any.

I don't know if the following are still published, but you might want to
investigate in CONSER or OCLC:

HERMES AMERICANUS: a magazine in Latin to promote learning the
language, and dealing with the classical, medieval and renaissance
periods. It is or was the only one in America, but there are or were
half a dozen similar ones in Europe. (I forget their titles.)

IUVENIS COMMENTARIOLUS (possibly spelled JUVENIS): a comic
strip periodical published in Rome for global circulation.

If your question is related to educational purposes and not limited to
current events, I am a firm believer in the value of comics for
language learning. An excellent one in a Roman setting is Jacques
Martin's ALIX series (published by Casterman). At least one title has
been translated into Latin: SPARTACI FILIUS. Several titles of
ASTERIX are also available in Latin, including: ASTERIX GALLUS, FALX
AUREA, ASTERIX APUD GOTHOS, ASTERIX GLADIATOR, ASTERIX ITER GALLICUM,
ASTERIX ET CLEOPATRA, CERTAMEN PRINCIPUM.

Die dulci fruere!
