I am interested in hearing from any library (academic, public, or
special) that has been using the Oblique Suspended Filing Compartments
system for their newspaper and/or current periodical collections. We
are particularly interested in those places that have open rather than
closed stacks. We are considering this system for our newspapers and
would like to hear from places that have had actual experience with it
before we make any decisions. We would like to know about things like
durability of the filing folders, use of labelling folders and changing
labels, ease of use for staff and patrons, and just if they do indeed
solve the problem they are intended to solve (making it easier to store
and maintain your newspapers and to keep them in date order). Are there
any special advantages or disadvantages to the system? I'd appreciate
any input and will summarize responses for the list.
