SERIALS/REFERENCE LIBRARIAN, North Dakota State College of Science,
Wahpeton, ND

POSITION TITLE: Academic Librarian II-27.  Permanent, full time 10 month
position.

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for providing reference assistance and scheduling
other librarians at the reference desk.  Individual will be in charge of
general bibliographic instruction and development of customized
instruction by faculty request.  Will manage library's electronic
reference equipment, including PALS OPACs and a CD-ROM LAN.  Will also be
responsible for cataloging and maintenance of serials collection,
including continuing automation of collection on PALS serials module.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: ALA-accredited MLS degree.  Experience with or
working knowledge of microcomputer, Internet, and CD-ROM technology.
OCLC cataloging experience.  Strong communication and interpersonal
skills, ability to work well with patrons at many experience levels, an
interest in innovation, and good organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Experience with electronic databases,
bibliographic instruction, and serials cataloging.

SALARY: Minimum of $23,000 per year.
