X12 EDI WORKSHOP FOR LIBRARIANS, ILS VENDORS,
BOOK WHOLESALERS and SUBSCRIPTION AGENTS
Help Develop a Library Purchase Order
for Books & Serials!
Library system vendors tell us that there MUST be a library subset of the X12
transaction sets before they will begin programming for this application.
We plan to start with the combined X12 book and serial Purchase Order
transaction set.
What data elements MUST be there from a library perspective?
Will book wholesalers and subscription agents program their computers to
"read" and their staff to react to each of these data elements?
This day-long session WILL NOT WORK unless librarians and their book
wholesalers and serial subscription agents participate. We have a European
model to use as our starting point. We need your input and that of your
vendors to create workable requirements for the U.S. library community.
