Subject: Microfilm: Positive or Negative

Melissa--
We have large collections in both positive and negative microforms.  The
patents and the ERIC microfiche are the most widely used of our negative
microforms.  Years ago we had reader/printers that used dry-silver paper
and made negative copies.  The patrons were not pleased with the product.
We now use Minolta RP 605Z reader/printers, which can make positive copies
from both positive and negative microforms.  We've been happy with the quality
of the copies.
