Telecommunications and Information: The Commercial Perspective
* Morning General Session. Telecommunication industry experts will present
perspective on the emerging information superhighway and the relationships
between commercial and publicly funded organizations in the information
infrastructure. Larry Learn, Director of Technical Planning, OCLC, will
provide an overview of the industry, economic issues and the regulatory
environment. Representing the commercial sector, Warren Gifford, Executive
Director, Bellcore, will discuss trends, business straegies and research
and development activities. AMIGOS Members: $95/$85 early.
* Afternoon Small Group Sessions include contract cataloging strategies and
basics, collection analysis, OCLC telecommunications, OCLC reference
services, PRISM ILL, document delivery, Preservation Services and
Automation Alley.
* A Member Reception will include complimentary hors d'oeuvres and cash bar.

* Morning Membership Meeting agenda includes Board of Trustees elections
and approval of annual membership fees. Participate in this introductory
opportunity whereby AMIGOS Board, staff and members determine Plan 2000,
the strategic direction for AMIGOS through the Year 2000.
