                   NETWORKED INFORMATION RESOURCES LIBRARIAN
                       WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Wright State University Libraries seeks an energetic,
inquisitive, and flexible individual to serve with the Collection and Access
Team as networked information resources librarian.  Responsible for
developing and maintaining knowledge of and proficiency with all aspects of
networked information (such as the Internet and LAN resources).  Train
University faculty in use of networked information resources, including
access and interfaces; provide general outreach to University faculty.
Develop local and remote resources, e.g., Internet-based resources and tools
such as Gopher.  Collaborate with Reference and Research Services
Departments to train library users and staff.  Participate in professional
activities, professional development, and continuing education.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Required: ALA-accredited M.L.S. or Master's degree in a
related computer or information science field.  Preferred:  Experience with
networked information systems in an academic or health sciences library.
Working knowledge of an integrated library management system, networked
resources, and OCLC reference services.  Strong service orientation;
excellent oral and written communication skills; positive interpersonal
relationships with proven ability to collaborate; ability to work
independently; eagerness and ability to work in groups, particularly with
students and faculty.

ENVIRONMENT:  Wright State University enrolls 17,000 students and offers a
comprehensive program of study including doctorates in five fields.  The
Dayton metro area with 1 million people features a wide diversity of
cultural and recreational activities and a rich quality of life.  Wright
State is the central hardware site for OhioLINK and is one of the first
libraries to implement this statewide system.  The Library is planning a
remote storage facility to be opened in 1994 and to be operated jointly with
the University of Cincinnati and Miami University.

SALARY RANGE: $24,000 - $34,070.
