Here at the University of Wisconsin a group of selectors are creating a
statement/policy regarding the duplication of library materials.  This
statement is primarily for serials, but can cover monographs.

We have reduced duplication to a large extent, but we are a big campus with a
large enrollment.  There are many reasons for duplication, and we hope to
incorporate these into the policy, as well as make a clear statement to the
effect that we can no longer afford to duplicate materials as we have done in
the past.

The question that I would like to pose to you is, has anyone else written a
similar policy or statement?  Would you be willing to share it?  Also, if you
