   The Library Research Round Table announces the 1994 competition for
the Jesse H. Shera Award for Research. Entries from all library researchers
are encouraged; membership in the LRRT is not required for participation.
The author(s) of the winning paper will receive $500 and will present
the paper at Miami.

   Submissions, in triplicate, must be received by March 1. It is advised
that those intending to submit alert the chair of the JHS Award Committee
by February 1. They will receive a complete set of guidelines.

    Summary of the Guidelines

    Papers will be judged on definition of the research problem,
application of research methods, clarity of presentation and significance
of the conclusions.

    Papers must not exceed fifty pages in length and must not have
appeared in print before the submission date.

    Papers completed for a degree may not be submitted, but papers
utilizing research gathered in pursuit of a degree may be submitted.

    Only one submission per entrant please.

    An agreement with Library and Information Science Research permits the
publication of the winning paper in that journal, if the author(s) wish it.
(Naturally the paper must meet LISR requirements in terms of style and format
which can be found in the Instructions to Authors section of the journal.)
